Twitter [aka X] Is In Talks With Midjourney

Recent developments on X partnering with Midjourney have sparked curiosity among social media users and industry insiders. While there is no official confirmation on a partnership, Elon said in a recent Twitter Space that they “are in interesting discussions.”

If X were to partner with Midjourney, it could bring a new dimension to the social media platform, allowing users to create and AI-generated visuals directly within the app.

This integration could also improve the accessibility of results for users with visual impairments, as visual representations of search results could provide additional context and content.

The potential partnership could also align with X’s Grok, a chatbot that aims to provide a more diverse and potentially edgy response style than other AI chatbots.

For example, if a user searches for “sunset,” Grok could display AI-generated images of sunsets alongside traditional X search results, making the experience more visually appealing and engaging.

While the potential partnership between X and Midjourney has generated excitement, it’s important to note that no official announcement has been made.

The rumors and speculations on Twitter should be taken with a grain of salt until there is official confirmation from either company.

AI Trained At ‘Lightspeed’

University of Pennsylvania engineers have made a breakthrough in AI chip technology, developing a chip that utilizes light waves instead of electricity to train AI models.

Nerds Engineers at Penn just developed a new chip that uses light instead of electricity to train AI models, which looks to be the next significant breakthrough.

It all boils down to a complex math operation called vector-matrix multiplication.

Now I don’t want to put you to sleep, so just work with me here.

Imagine you have a bunch of shopping lists (vectors), and you want to compare them to a giant grocery store inventory (matrix). This chip uses light to perform this comparison much faster and more efficiently than traditional chips that rely on electricity.

Think of it this way…

Traditional chips are like doing math homework without a calculator. This new chip is like doing math homework with a calculator… the good one we all had to buy for high school.

So this means the potential outcomes of this technology could be:

  • Faster AI: This chip is like a Ferrari for AI, making it process information way quicker. This means faster and more personalized recommendations, better healthcare diagnoses, and chatbots that don’t make you want to tear your hair out.
  • Less energy use: Training AI is like running a marathon for your computer, guzzling down energy like a construction worker at a gas station. This new chip could be way more efficient, saving you money on your electricity bill and helping the environment.
  • More privacy, maybe: This chip might make it harder for hackers to steal your data from AI systems. Now, this isn’t a guarantee, but hey, every little bit helps, right?

This new chip is a promising step forward for AI. It could make AI faster, greener, and maybe even a little more secure.
