Hungry For Data
Zoom, the company famous for making virtual meetings in your PJs normal, got caught in a data frenzy.
They tried to sneak in new terms letting them gobble up your voice, video, and more for AI training.
People got mad, and Zoom did a U-turn, promising not to chew on your data without asking first.
Wow. New Zoom Terms of Service (10.2) stipulate that you as a user consent to allow AI to train on and use all of your data, including video, audio, facial, biometric data, etc… It’s time to switch to @keet_io. pic.twitter.com/TxZaCEHkSi

This mess reflects a bigger issue – companies crave data like a bottomless pit.
Tech companies go wild collecting data and building products from it, like DALL-E 2 and ChatGPT.
Plus, America lacks solid privacy laws, leaving us more exposed to data parasites.
New laws might help, but for now, we’ve got to raise a fuss [like with Zoom] to curb data feasting.
As cool tech typically sprouts from sketchy data, we really have to guard our digital lives in a data-crazed world.
