Real Photo Wins AI-Generation Contest

Photographer Miles Astray submitted his photo of a flamingo that appears to be headless to the AI category of the 1839 Awards, and his image won the Bronze award and the People’s Vote Award.

However, it was later disqualified after the organizers discovered it was not AI-generated.

I’m glad to see that this experiment confirmed my hypothesis: there is nothing more fantastic and creative than Mother Nature herself. I don’t demonize the new technology and see its potential, but currently I see its limitations and dangers even more clearly.

iPhone bezels now have a clever animation when pressing side buttons, making it look like you’re pushing the bezel into the screen.
iOS 18 allows bilingual typing, letting you seamlessly switch between languages like Spanish and English without toggling settings.
The flashlight app on iPhone 15 Pro now features a fun animation that lets you adjust luminance and beam shape by swiping.
Widget customization in iOS 18 is easier, with size options available directly in the contextual menu when long-pressing a widget.
The Vision Pro headset can now show your keyboard in a virtual environment, improving usability for immersive work scenarios.
Voicemail transcriptions now appear directly in notifications, saving you time and taps.
iPhone 15 devices now have more granular charging limit options, with a slider allowing stops every 5 percent between 80 and 100 percent.

In a recent podcast episode hosted by tech influencer Marques Brownlee, Apple CEO Tim Cook addressed the long-standing criticism of the Magic Mouse’s design.

When asked about the mouse, known by everyone for its impractical charging port located on the bottom, Cook emphasized how “ergonomics” were key in its design.

Marques, visibly skeptical, gave Cook a questioning look, highlighting the absurdity of the charging port placement.
