Startups Race To Create The iPhone Of AI

A compact, orange device, resembling a new-age walkie-talkie, was introduced by tech startup Rabbit on Tuesday, and it’s designed to employ “AI agents” to perform tasks for its users.

It can plan a vacation, book trips, order pizza, arrange transportation, and even create digital images, all through voice commands.

And priced at $199, the r1 is a more affordable alternative to similar AI devices like the $699 Humane Ai Pin and the $299 Meta and Rayban smart-glasses.

The growing interest from prominent investors like OpenAI’s Sam Altman in these AI devices underscores their potential impact.

The company that captures this market first, offering both innovative technology and user-centric design, could dominate a significant portion of the tech industry to come, much like Apple did following… well, practically every release since the iPod.

It’s not just about creating a single successful product; it’s about setting the standard for how AI integrates into our lives.

Industry experts, however, question the necessity of such hardware for AI interaction. Francisco Jeronimo, VP for Data & Analytics at IDC Europe, argues that the success of these products is doubtful, as consumers are more inclined towards intelligent phones rather than separate AI devices.
