The ClaudeBot crawler has been hitting websites like iFixit with an overwhelming number of requests, violating their terms of use and causing server strain.
iFixitâs CEO Kyle Wiens reported that ClaudeBot accessed the site nearly a million times in 24 hours, despite clear prohibitions in iFixitâs Terms of Use against using their content for AI training.
Anthropic responded by pointing to their FAQ, which claims compliance with robots.txt file exclusions. However, this method offers limited control for website owners.
