Seeing Isnā€™t Believing Anymore šŸ‘€

AI deepfakes have been good for a while, but the technology is now so good [and readily available to the world] that a fake MrBeast video slipped past TikTokā€™s ad moderation.

In the ad, he appeared to be offering 10,000 viewers an iPhone 15 Pro for just $2.

In most cases, this would set off your scam detector.

However, coming from MrBeast – the man who gives away houses, private jets, and islands – it could be believable!

MrBeast isn’t alone in his frustration either.

Deepfake scams are a very real and growing issue.

Just this week, actor Tom Hanks and CBS anchor Gayle King had to caution their followers about being deceived by fraudulent ads featuring their deepfakeā€™d counterparts.

Although the FTC has already issued warnings about deepfake marketing, itā€™s up to you to keep yourself safe.

So how can you protect yourself?

Stay Informed: Awareness is your armor. Keeping up with the latest in AI tech and its uses will help you know how technology is evolving and how scams are evolving too. For example, we wrote about one of the latest AI scam methods in a previous newsletter.

Stay Skeptical: Before you buy into anything online, double-check your sources. Massive giveaways, like 10,000 iPhones for $2, would [and should] be talked about outside of a paid ad. Go searching for YouTube videos, Reddit discussions, or tweets from the creator/business.

7 ChatGPT Plugins You Canā€™t Live Without

If youā€™re already paying for GPT-4, youā€™re missing out if you arenā€™t taking advantage of their fast-growing plugin library.

Not all of them are worth your time, but weā€™ve compiled the best ones available today to help simplify your life:

1. OpenTable

The OpenTable plugin offers quick and seamless restaurant bookings on the go. You only need to provide the data, time, location, and number of people in your party.

2. Canva

Canva recently introduced itsā€™ plugin to ChatGPT, and it can do several tasks from generating social media posts to videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok. You can also use it to generate templates and create presentations right inside the chat interface.

3. Instacart

ChatGPT may be able to provide recipes, but it canā€™t seek out the ingredients for you. Instacart, on the other hand, intelligently comes up with food and drinks recipes with where you can buy these ingredients in real time.

4. Zapier

Zapier was made to eliminate unnecessary steps in your workflow with the ability to interact with over 5,000 apps [like Gmail, Slack, etc], and this plugin works in tandem with ChatGPT to build out the integration and ā€œzapā€ it to your account. A no-brainer for business owners & solopreneurs.

5. Kayak

Kayak is one of the best plugins for travel planning with ChatGPT. Without it, finding flights, booking hotels, and finding travel recommendations can be a pain in the you-know-what.

6. Wolfram

If you find yourself using ChatGPT for advanced computations, math, and real-time data, Wolfram is your best bet at solving more technical questions.

7. Meme Generator

The meme generator plugin generates a variety of memes on any topic you provide, so if you donā€™t consider yourself a meta-comedian, this plugin will source images from a meme directory and add captions.

How do you enable plugins?

Boot up your ChatGPT interface, switch to GPT-4, hover over the GPT-4 button, and activate plugins.

Then, underneath both GPT buttons, youā€™ll see a new dropdown menu saying there are, ā€œNo plugins enabled.ā€

Click it, open the plugin store, and search for the one you want! (:
