OpenAI has released its o1 model, a new AI designed for improved reasoning and handling more complex queries than previous models like GPT-4o.
The o1 model uses a different training method, incorporating reinforcement learning and a “chain of thought” process to tackle tasks like coding and solving multistep math problems.
Although o1 outperforms GPT-4o in complex reasoning tasks, it’s more expensive and lacks capabilities like web browsing.

Facebook & Instagram Making AI Labels Less Prominent
Meta is updating its labeling system for AI-edited content on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.
The “AI Info” label, previously displayed prominently, will now appear within a menu for images and videos that have been edited using AI tools, though fully AI-generated content will still display the label more clearly.
This change is meant to reflect the level of AI use in edited content. The new labels will roll out next week.
