OpenAI has made a significant change to ChatGPT, on April Fools Day nonetheless, by removing the requirement for users to have an account to access its services.

Broadening AI accessibility and allowing more people to explore ChatGPT’s capabilities without the barrier of account registration.

However, this update is exclusive to ChatGPT; other OpenAI services like DALL-E 3, which incurs a cost, will still necessitate an account for use.

While ChatGPT users can engage with the AI freely, account holders will enjoy additional features such as saving chat histories, sharing chats, and engaging in voiced conversations.

As of today, Google Podcasts is no more — now, you’ll have to tune in on YouTube Music instead.

This has been a troubling Google pattern where they launch services with enthusiasm, only to gradually sideline and eventually shut them down, contributing to the so-called “Google Graveyard.”

And this shift to YouTube Music is a downgrade in the podcast listening experience [hell, YT music experience isn’t even that great with music].

Despite the rationale that YouTube’s popularity as a podcast platform justifies this change, many see it as a short-sighted decision driven more by advertising revenue than user experience.
