Uber is partnering with Chinese automaker BYD to bring 100,000 electric vehicles to its ridesharing platform over several years.
The partnership will begin in Europe and Latin America, offering drivers financing deals and potential discounts on charging and maintenance.
This initiative supports Uber’s goal to electrify its rides while expanding the program to regions including the Middle East, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
