Discord Making It Easier For Devs To Earn Money
Starting June 6th, Discord is lowering its platform fee to 15 percent for the first $1 million in gross sales, down from the usual 30 percent.
This new “Growth” tier aims to attract more developers by making it more profitable to sell premium perks via Discord storefronts.
Developers can now offer one-time purchases, like games, cosmetic skins, and other premium assets, in addition to subscription models. These can be permanent or consumable items that expire.
Netflix Redesign To Simplify Your Homepage
Netflix is testing a new homepage design on its TV app — making it easier to find information about shows and movies.
The redesign features boxes that expand when you hover over them, displaying a short preview, synopsis, release year, number of episodes, and genre directly within the tile.
This change eliminates the need to scan to the top of the interface for details. Additionally, Netflix is replacing its left-side menu with a streamlined top menu, including options like search, home, shows, movies, and My Netflix.
Netflix’s senior director of product, Pat Flemming, hopes this new setup will enhance the viewing experience by making it easier to decide if a title is right for you.
Invest Before This Becomes A Household Name
The ball-park isn’t the only place to look for home runs. Best Buy has a proven record of placing early bets on home-tech products that go on to dominate the market.
- Ring – acquired by Amazon for $1.2B
- Nest – acquired by Google for $3.2B
Pay attention, because Best Buy just unveiled a new smart-home product in 100+ stores with massive potential – RYSE Smart Shades. RYSE is positioned to dominate the smart shades market (currently growing 50% annually) and there’s still time to invest in their $1.50/share public offering.
Their share price has risen 50% year-over-year, with strong upside as they scale into retail. Missed out on Ring and Nest? This is your chance to secure your stake in the smart home market.
The opportunity to invest closes next week – don’t miss it.

SpaceX’s 4th Starship Reaches Splashdown
Super Heavy has splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico pic.twitter.com/hIY3Gkq57k
— SpaceX (@SpaceX) June 6, 2024
The launch from Texas at 8:50AM ET saw the Super Heavy booster separate and land in the Gulf of Mexico — despite a damaged flap, the Starship vehicle managed a soft landing in the Indian Ocean.
This 394-foot system, combining the Super Heavy booster and Starship spacecraft, is the most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, and it’s designed to be fully reusable.
Starship aims to lower space travel costs significantly, so it can transport satellites, cargo, and up to 100 people for future missions.
