The much-anticipated interview between Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump on X Spaces was delayed by 42 minutes due to technical difficulties.
Musk claimed the delay was caused by a massive DDOS attack, but it’s unconfirmed if this was the primary cause.
The event’s rocky start was reminiscent of previous issues with high-profile events on the platform.
Patreon Implementing Apple’s 30% Fee
Starting in November 2024, Patreon will begin using Apple’s in-app payment system for iOS, which includes a 30% commission on memberships purchased through the app.
With Apple taking their cut & Patreon taking theirs, the total fees come out to 38-42% of your hard-earned money.
Meanwhile, Patreon is recommending users raise their subscription prices in the iOS app to manage the increased fees.

Meta & UMG Expand Licensing Deal

Meta and Universal Music Group (UMG) have renewed their licensing agreement to cover the use of UMG’s music across more Meta platforms, including Threads and WhatsApp.
The multiyear deal also includes measures to address unauthorized AI-generated content and expands UMG’s presence on Meta’s social apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.
This agreement contrasts with TikTok’s previous struggles to secure similar music licensing deals.
