App ‘Used AI To Weed Out Daters With STIs’ Shut Down

HeHealth’s AI-powered Calmara app, which claimed to screen for STIs using dick pics, has been shut down after an FTC inquiry.

The app promised accurate STI detection but faced backlash for dubious scientific claims and privacy issues.

Eventually, the FTC found the app unreliable and potentially misleading, so HeHealth agreed to shut down both Calmara and its main app, delete user data, and cease operations.
 

Elon Musk Moving X & SpaceX To Texas

Elon Musk announced plans to relocate the headquarters of X (formerly Twitter) and SpaceX from California to Texas following California’s SAFETY Act, which supports LGBTQ students.

Now, SpaceX’s HQ will move to Starbase, Texas, while X will move to Austin.

Musk has previously moved Tesla’s headquarters to Texas in response to regulatory and operational challenges in California.

Google Ends Search Results Annotation Experiment

Google is discontinuing its Notes experiment, which allowed users to annotate search results with text and images.

It launched in November as part of Search Labs, a feature aimed to enhance search results with user insights. However, the experiment will end soon due to limited popularity.
