The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW), an old Apple blog, has been revived by new owners using AI and writers, who haven’t worked at TUAW for over a decade, found their names and AI-generated photos attached to new posts.

The new owners, Web Orange Limited, claim they are preserving TUAW’s legacy by rewriting archived content with AI, but this has led to significant backlash from former writers, including Christina Warren, who threatened legal action.

Spotify Evolves Into A Social Network

Spotify has introduced comments on podcast episodes allowing podcasters to engage directly with their audience, similar to other interactive features like polls and Q&As.

Microsoft & Apple Exit OpenAI Board

Microsoft has relinquished its observer seat on OpenAI’s board, less than eight months after acquiring it, and Apple will no longer join the board due to growing antitrust concerns and regulatory scrutiny from the UK, EU, and FTC regarding Big Tech’s investments in AI.

OpenAI, in response, is shifting to stakeholder meetings for collaboration and engagement with key partners like Microsoft and Apple without making it seem like an exclusive club.

And despite stepping down from the board, Microsoft continues its $10 billion investment in OpenAI to powers AI-driven features across Microsoft’s products and services.
